The Executive Centre (TEC) has collaborated with long-standing design partners to create a film series exploring trends in wellness, productivity and lifestyle as it relates to the modern workspace. Since 1994 TEC have worked to create thoughtfully articulated workspaces that prioritise both aesthetics and functionality, catering to ambitious professionals and industry leaders looking for more than just an office space. TEC has cultivated an environment designed for success with a global network spanning Greater China, Southeast Asia, North Asia, India, Sri Lanka, the Middle East, and Australia, with sights to go further and grow faster. This documentary series covers the ongoing relationship between TEC with Fiona Hardie ID, Timothy Oulton, 9AM and Herman Miller.

TEC has worked in partnership with Fiona Hardie ID since 2005. The first collaboration was the design of the space in the Taipei 101 building. Since this time, Fiona has been an important figure in the evolving aesthetic of The Executive Centre. The first film in the series centres on the evolution of design and the shifting dynamic of the workplace, a dynamic that is increasingly open and collaborative. In terms of the working relationship, Fiona explains the natural progression and transformation of the process, “We’ve developed together really, we’ve worked together, and we keep unfolding new ideas. We accept that it’s an organic process. As the workplace changes, it’s very important, not only for TEC, but for me to keep up so that we can maintain this relationship, together.”

The second film in the series covers the relationship with Timothy Oulton and is an exploration of the exchange between aesthetics and utility. Timothy Oulton explains, “If you make a space beautiful, people just behave differently, and it's always a change for the positive, even in a workplace. If you feel comfortable you’re much more open to different ideas, different perspectives apart from your own.” At The Executive Centre, Members can immerse themselves in the enduring quality of the Timothy Oulton look and feel and this film is a meditation on the power of beautiful design.

TEC and 9AM have worked together since August 2016 to offer simple innovations that address one of the biggest problems in the traditional workspace, simply put, we sit for too long each day. 9AM have innovated height-adjustable standing desks that respond to ongoing productivity solutions. Alex Hu of 9AM explains this brand of functional ergonomics, “Our innovation on the smart standing desk triggered this partnership, as TEC is also looking for new ideas that can surprise and benefit their Members….TEC and 9AM are heading in the same direction. With the help of technology, we believe that a well-designed space should not only provide a place to work, but also inspire and energise people when they’re working.” Simple innovation, maximum benefit and a future-first partnership that creates a truly seamless work experience has been the hallmark of the ongoing association between 9AM and TEC.

The final film in the series is in collaboration with Herman Miller and showcases how evolving design philosophies about the modern workplace are bought to life at TEC. Maria Andreu of Herman Miller explains, “The qualities of a good workplace really need to show a deep understanding of what makes us human. The Executive Centre is a living example of Herman Miller's mission, which is to inspire designs to help people do great things. When you walk into all The Executive Centre spaces, you can really feel the positive attitude of the people working there.” The film celebrates the longstanding partnership that gets to the heart of a deep, scientific understanding of how people live and work alongside thoughtful design.

The series celebrated at a launch event on August 30 and is released in English, Traditional and Simplified Chinese, Arabic, Japanese and Korean. TEC looks forward to developing centres that continue to push the boundaries of traditional workspace design. In celebrating innovative materials, exceptional craftsmanship and seamless product experience we will continue to provide best in class service and experience for Members throughout the expanding global network.
